The Green Climate Fund focuses on the following eligible sectors:

For a project to be eligible, it must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Paradigm shift potential Degree to which the proposed activity can catalyse the impact beyond a single investment in a project or programme
Sustainable development potential Benefits in environmental, social and gender issues
Needs of the beneficiary Vulnerability and financing needs of the beneficiary country and population
National appropiation Appropriation by the beneficiary country of a financed project or programme and the capacity to execute it (climate policies, strategies and institutions)
Efficiency and effectiveness Economic and financial soundness of the programme / project
