There are four types of financial instruments under the Green Fund which are combined with funding granted by public or private institutions for the financing of climate projects:

Capital This consists of investment in a project or asset so as to leverage debt and achieve better returns.
Conccesional loan Financing under better conditions than those offered by the market.
Guarantees Commitment by which a guarantor, in exchange for a commission, undertakes to meet the obligations that a borrower has with a lender in case of default on the part of the borrower. Guarantees can cover the entire investment or a part thereof.
Donations These are normally used to supplement other instruments with a view to maximizing the impact of investments. Grants can be provided in advance or disbursed through an incentive-based programme after reaching specific goals.
