Madrid, December 19, 2019.- COFIDES has joined the group of entities that support the "Standards of Conduct for Business on Tackling Discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, & Intersex People".

These Standards have been drafted by the United Nations Office of Human Rights in collaboration with the Institute for Human Rights and Business with the aim of addressing discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people (LGBTI) in the field of business.

LGTBI DIVERSITY COMMITMENT

COFIDES' endorsement implies a commitment to favor diversity and guarantee equal treatment, as well as the adoption of measures to avoid any kind of discrimination towards the LGBTI group. Thus, COFIDES takes another step in the protection of the rights of this group after this year's approval of an LGBTI Policy with the aim of promoting diversity and social inclusion.

With its adherence to these Standards, “COFIDES reinforces its willingness to ensure the protection of the LGBTI collective and commits to promote equal treatment and activate measures against any kind of discrimination,” said the COFIDES chairman, José Luis Curbelo. In short, "we are committed to an inclusive and diverse environment based on equality," he added.
