Madrid, July 12, 2013. Banco Santander´s International Business Director Pedro Morera and COFIDES Chairman, Salvador Marín, signed today a collaboration agreement whereby COFIDES will become part of Plan Exporta 2.0 program, started by Banco Santander.

Plan Exporta 2.0 is a set of services started up by Banco Santander and aimed at Spanish companies to facilitate entrepreneurs their strategy in the international business. 

With this agreement, which was signed today on COFIDES premises, both enterprises have committed to actively collaborate in providing a joint support service to improve success possibilities of investment projects promoted abroad by Spanish companies.

In this way, COFIDES and Banco Santander will coordinate to spread the Plan Exporta 2.0 and identify the co-financing opportunities of Spanish firms’ internationalization projects, with particular attention to SME’s.

COFIDES Chairman, Salvador Marín, stated that “we’re going a step further in the alliance strategy that we set ourselves in our 2012-2015 Strategic Plan. We’ve formalised the close collaboration spirit that COFIDES and Banco Santander are developing in the late months to co-finance Spanish companies and have them go abroad with due security and confidence”.  To Marín, “participation in Plan Exporta 2.0 is a clear signal of COFIDES and Banco Santander´s willingness to support Spanish economy”.

Banco Santander´s International Business Director, Pedro Morera, hinted that “this is a unique opportunity for the Bank to offer so many solutions for the internationalization, and so varied, and that now they culminate in the financing support to Spanish companies wishing to invest abroad with corporate projects”. The Bank wants to come closer to the firms across the whole country in order to be able to present these solutions to the Spanish entrepreneurs, and make their international process easier — the most complete offer that can be offered today in our country”.
