COFIDES Chairman, Salvador Marín, participated in Euromoney’s Spanish Capital Markets Forum that took place in Madrid today.

Marín, who was interviewed by the Director of Euromoney Conferences, Christopher Garnett, about internationalitation of Spanish Companies, has assured that “companies investing beyond our frontiers are contributing to improved economic growth, innovation and competitiveness”. In fact, “internationalisation allows our companies to grow stronger and be able to create more jobs here in Spain”.

During the interview, Marín has outlined a recent study by the European Union reporting that small and medium-sized companies doing business abroad have raised employment rates by nearly 16%, whereas those companies that stayed within their countries only grew about 4%.

To Salvador Marín, “Spanish Government has the necessary instruments, such as COFIDES, to help Spanish enterprises invest abroad. For those in need to settle beyond our frontiers, our Government will provide funding from FIEX and FONPYME for this purpose”. Even more, COFIDES Chairman, has stressed that “we are a model of public-private company collaboration”, in which Banco Santander, Banco Bilbao-Vizcaya Argentaria and Banco Sabadell are shareholders”.
